I love this recipe because of its simplicity and versatility. I call this my "oh sh*t" baked pasta because it's the perfect option when you are short on time and can't sit at the stove to boil pasta. When time is limited and you need to get sh*t done, while also getting dinner on the table, this is a recipe for you. It pairs perfectly with baked meatballs, which can bake at the same time in the same oven, or you can simply add your protein of choice (cooked chicken or ricotta), or just enjoy straight up.
0.5 lb pasta of your choice
1 32 oz can crushed tomatoes
Half can of water (16 oz)
1 sprig basil
2-3 cloves garlic, smashed (or 2-3 cubes frozen crushed garlic)
Olive oil
Salt to taste
Mix all ingredient together in an oven safe baking dish and cover with either a lid or foil. Bake at 400 degrees F for 20 min. Stir, taste, and adjust seasoning to your liking.
